Braam is currently involved with commercial work, conveyancing and the winding up of insolvent estates at Kotzé Low Swanepoel.
He obtained his B.Juris and LL.B degrees from the North-West University in 1978 and 1980 respectively. During this time, Braam was primarius of his hostel, and played on the university's cricket team. He later obtained a diploma in tax law through the University of South Africa in 1982. Braam completed his articles at his present firm, Kotzé Low Swanepoel. In 1985 he was appointed as an appraiser, and in 1990 as a conveyancer of the High Court of South Africa.
Involved in the law profession for the past 35 years - 33 as an attorney and 27 as conveyancer - Braam is up to date with the current legislation in respect of the field in which he operates, enabling him to advise clients meaningfully. He seeks honest and affordable advice for his clients and helps make the law accessible to all people. Braam is also a member of the Insolvency Practitioners Association of South Africa. Being very involved in the community, he served as a municipal councilor for 14 years. For several years, he also served as chairperson of the Kalahari Attorneys Association, being circle 17 in the jurisdiction area of the Law Society of the Cape of Goodhope. Currently, Braam is primarily involved with his church and the golf club.
